OverView

Without the support of a forensic pharmacy expert, your case could suffer from incomplete or misunderstood pharmacological evidence, potentially leading to unfavorable outcomes.

Adverse medication outcomes are often more complex than misprespcribing. Drug interactions, unheeded alerts or warnings, and other factors involving complex medication regimens may also contribute to adverse outcomes. A pharmacology expert will be a valued resource to establish association or causation in a medication litigation case. Importantly, the expert may identify elements consistent with a non-defensible negligence or standard of care case, before extensive efforts and costs are incurred.

I can effectively speak to the standards of care related to dispensing and monitoring of medications, and issues of prescribing standards. As a pharmacology expert, my advanced training and experience allows me to understand and convey the underlying basis for drug effects, both intended clinical and unintended adverse outcomes.

ABOUT Me

The success of a medication litigation case is highly dependent on the engagement of a consultant who has the proper mix of training, experience, and expertise.  Dr. Luke A. Probst, PharmD, BCPS, is a pharmacist with nearly 40 years of experience in a variety of practice settings.  Most of that time has been spent in tertiary care academic medical centers caring for complex adult and pediatric patients.

Board Certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist and with additional training in Pharmacogenomics, Dr. Probst has demonstrated extensive knowledge and skills in the application of clinical pharmacology to the medication management of acutely and chronically ill patients. Academically, Dr. Probst has been an invited presenter to pharmacy and nursing conferences, has co-authored peer reviewed publications, and served as course instructor for an advanced nursing pharmacology course. While maintaining an active professional practice, Dr. Probst has been retained in a moderate number of both plaintiff and defendant cases.
